Dear Readers,
Have you seen the Periwinkles' new garden?
James and Jemima are looking at the flower bouquet Jemima got for her birthday in May.
As you can see, James has used the sea shells we received from Emily in Dandelion Creek to decorate the lawn. I love how they look!
Molly and Pip, the two kittens, are having a staring contest with a red squirrel.
This is what the garden looked like on the day of Jemima's party.
Do your Sylvanian villages have spaghetti trees? Riverside has a few, and one of them is growing on the Periwinkles' lawn.
Jemima invited her very best friends to come over and play, and her favourite toys were allowed to sit on the bench and watch. Hans (a teddy bear), Pink Sally (a stuffed rabbit) and a cute little dog named Button, who had gone lost for a looong time and who somehow found his way back to the Periwinkles.
(I don't suppose anyone remembers, but Santa got him for Jemima at the Christmas Market and he was included in a single story and then never seen again! I wonder where he was during his absence and whether he experienced any adventures...)
Here you can see James' beloved collection of watering cans. Don't they look like a family? Mother, father, two siblings and a baby.
This is the photo James took of Jemima and her friends. If you are a regular reader you might have noticed a new face... It is a little grey hippopotamus standing in between Toby Babblebrook and Fudge. She is called Hippolina and was given to the Riversiders for adoption from Fudge's former mother, Birgit.
Welcome to Riverside, Hippolina!
Nice to hear from you again Nina! The Periwinkle's garden looks amazing, I am sure that they will spending a lot of time there! The spaghetti tree looks very nice, unfortunately they don't grow around the Dandelion Creek area which is a shame as they look so cool! The toys are very lucky to be able to enjoy the garden with Jemima and her friends. I love the watering can collection family, where did you get them by the way? I know that the green one came from the flower shop but the other ones I don't recognize. I thoroughly enjoyed looking at your wonderful photographs and the last one is very cute! I am sure that Hippolina has made many new friends already as the critters in your village are always so friendly and accepting. Thank you for making me smile today,

Dear Emily, Jemima and I are over the moon with your comment!
DeleteJames is the one who takes care of the garden, so he is beaming after hearing your compliment. (He also says hi.)
The watering cans are all from different sets. Let me try and remember... The dark green one is from the flower shop set, as you correctly mentioned, the yellow one seems to be Sylvanian too, although I can't think of the matching set right now. The tiny red one is from a Sylvanian Rabbit set including two grey parents and a baby with beach toys. The large red one is from a flea market and the light green one from a Re-ment "Sumikko Gurashi Ideal Home" set. :)
Have an awesome summer!!
Dear Nina:

What a perfect place to celebrate Jemima´s party.
I also love James´collection of watering cans. You´re right, they look like a family , this comment made me smile. You´re so witty!
The last picture where Jemima is surrounded by all her friends is adorable!
Hippolina is going to be very happy in Riverside.I´m sure she´s been warmly welcomed. Of all the Forest Families hippos are my favourite. I find them very cute.
Hope you´re having a wonderful summer!
A big hug
Thank you so much for your friendly comment, Cutata. Reading it made Jemima and me very happy! :)
DeleteYour flower basket is stunning and the Periwinkles love it. Jemima is very proud to have her own swing and uses it every day.
We are all having a great summer and Jemima sends you fuzzy hugs and kisses!
